ALAMFT's Mission

The mission of the Alabama Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (ALAMFT) is to provide opportunities for professional development and growth to enhance the delivery of marriage and family therapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups.

ALAMFT's Vision:

The Goals of the 2003 ALAMFT Executive Board (How we plan to carry out our mission and vision):

• Recruit, encourage and develop greater diversity to strengthen our association
• Establish ALAMFT as a primary provider of quality continuing education credit for marriage and family therapy in Alabama.
• Take an active role in strengthening connections among allied mental health professions:

• Through continuing education events.
• Through conversations with other mental health boards about common legislative concerns or issues.

• Develop and implement a marketing strategy to:

• Educate secondary and higher education students about career opportunities in marriage & family therapy.
• Inform the Alabama public about the services and benefits available to them from marriage and family therapists.
• Build and maintain a strong network of relationships with legislators and other policy makers.
