Clinical Membership in AAMFT

Clinical membership in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) is a national certification of competence in this distinct mental health discipline. All members of AAMFT are bound by a professional Code of Ethics, which is essentially the same as the Standards of Conduct for Marriage and Family Therapists approved the the Alabama Board of Examiners in Marriage and Family Therapy. Some have also met the additional requirements to become Approved Supervisors for those training to become marriage and family therapists, and for those training to become supervisors of therapy.
